As one of the outcomes of a series of DAWN workshops, participants are working on an edited volume, with an aim to shed light on culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) women academics' lived experiences. The focus is on laying bare linguistic epistemological racism, sexism, and other gendered inequality in CaLD women’s scholarly activities through stories, narratives and emotional journeys. The edited book is unique in the following aspects:
Adopting an autoethnography as a methodology to disrupt the norms in research norms and representations
Collaborative in authorship
Employing mentoring process during which less experienced academics are paired with more experienced academics
Highlighting women academics as knowledge creators as way to challenge the current systemic marginalisation and invalidation of the contribution
Using language as a prism
Critical in nature in its approaches in its emphasis on alternative theories, gender-balanced citation practices, reflexivity and accountability.
